A heat pump moves heat instead of making it. In a climate with mild winters and brutal summers, that is close to the ideal machine.
How it works
Moving heat beats burning fuel
In cooling, heat is pushed outside. In heating, the refrigerant cycle reverses and heat is pulled from outdoor air — even at 45°F there is plenty of it to move.
Cooling season
Identical operation to a conventional AC, with the same humidity performance you'd expect from the staging you choose.
Heating season
The reversing valve flips the cycle. Most Tampa winter days are handled without touching backup heat.
Backup strip heat
Electric elements cover the rare cold snap and defrost cycles. Sized to be a backstop, not a crutch.
