About

Built around measurements, not commissions

Northline Air is a fictional Tampa Bay contractor designed to show what an HVAC company looks like when technicians are paid to be right, not to sell.

The idea

No commission on parts

Sales commission is why so many homeowners get quoted a new system for a $28 capacitor. Remove the incentive and the recommendation changes.

Every technician in this concept is salaried, certified, and evaluated on repeat visits and measured outcomes. When replacement is genuinely the better answer, the readings on the invoice make the case without anyone raising their voice.

Standards

What every visit includes

Measured, not guessed

Every diagnostic includes static pressure, superheat and subcooling, and temperature split readings — written on the invoice so the next technician inherits real data.

Price before wrench

Nothing is opened, replaced, or ordered until the flat price is on screen and you have approved it. No hourly meter running while we think.

Repair-first bias

If a repair is safe and sensible, we quote the repair. Replacement is a conversation, not a default, and never a same-visit ultimatum.

Clean exit

Drop cloths, boot covers, photos of the finished work, and a walkthrough of what changed before the van doors close.

Licensing & insurance

How a real contractor should state this

A Florida HVAC contractor displays a state certification number, carries general liability and workers' compensation, and pulls permits where required. This concept shows that placement using FL Certified Mechanical Contractor #CMC-1259004 (fictional), which is illustrative and not a real credential.
