AC Repair

Not cooling? Start here.

Tell us what the system is doing and we'll bring the parts that usually fix it. Flat price approved before work starts, every time.

Symptoms

What is your system doing?

Each symptom points at a short list of causes. Anything marked urgent is worth calling about today.

  • Blowing warm air(urgent)

Refrigerant loss, failed capacitor, or a tripped outdoor breaker.

  • System will not turn on(urgent)

Thermostat power, float switch trip, breaker, or control board.

  • Water around the air handler(urgent)

Clogged condensate drain, failed pump, or frozen coil melt-off.

  • Short cycling

Oversized system, restricted airflow, or a failing control component.

  • Weak airflow

Blocked filter, duct leakage, or a blower wheel loaded with dust.

  • Loud or grinding noise

Blower bearing, loose panel, or a compressor mount issue.

  • Musty smell when running

Biological growth on the coil or standing water in the drain pan.

  • High humidity indoors

Oversized equipment, short run times, or duct leakage in the attic.

Common repairs

What we fix most in Tampa Bay

  • Capacitor replacement

The single most common summer failure. The compressor hums but will not start.

  • Contactor replacement

Pitted contacts stop the outdoor unit from engaging cleanly.

  • Condensate drain clearing

Biological sludge blocks the line, trips the float switch, and shuts the system down.

  • Blower motor or wheel service

Restores airflow lost to a dust-loaded wheel or a failing motor.

  • Refrigerant leak diagnosis

Locate the leak first, then repair and recharge to the manufacturer's weight.

  • Control board and sensor faults

Intermittent lockouts and error codes traced to the source, not swapped blindly.

The visit

What happens when we arrive

  1. 1

    Confirmation and heads-up

You get your two-hour window in writing, then a message when the technician is en route.

  2. 2

    Measured diagnosis

Static pressure, temperature split, refrigerant performance, and electrical draw — recorded, not guessed.

  3. 3

    Findings explained

You see the failed component and the reading that proves it, in plain language.

  4. 4

    Flat price approval

The repair price appears on screen. Nothing is opened or ordered until you approve it.

  5. 5

    Repair and verification

We repeat the measurements after the repair and leave them on your invoice.

How the diagnostic fee works

A diagnostic covers the technician's time to measure the system and identify the fault — not a guess from the driveway. In this concept, the fee is quoted when you book, credited toward an approved same-visit repair, and waived for Northline Care members at the Comfort tier and above.

Illustrative policy language for a fictional company. No fee is charged anywhere on this site and no payment is collected.

Recent repair feedback

  • The air handler was dripping through the ceiling on a Saturday. The technician found a clogged drain line, showed me the blockage, gave me the price on a tablet, and asked before doing anything. Ceiling patch aside, the whole visit took under an hour.

  • Booked the visit at 10pm through the site, got a confirmation with a two-hour window, and the technician texted when he was en route. That is the whole reason I will call them again.
